The autonomous economy is emerging now. AI agents are making purchases, negotiating contracts, allocating resources, and coordinating economic activity, all without human intervention.
Traditional blockchains are approaching their limits. Every blockchain since Bitcoin has been based on the same shared ledger design. The complexity, friction and the very idea of needing to go "on-chain" has severely limited their use in the real world. New approaches are needed.

Shared ledger architectures promise trustlessness but create consensus delays that throttle throughput. When millions of agents need to transact simultaneously, the system grinds to a halt.

Platforms that aggregate transactions become surveillance infrastructure. Every agent interaction flows through servers controlled by third parties who extract fees, impose rules, and could shut down access at will.
TRUST ASSUMPTIONS
Current systems require trusting someone: the platform, the validator set, the bridge operator. For autonomous agents transacting billions of times daily, every trust assumption is an attack surface.
HUMAN-SPEED DESIGN
Existing infrastructure was built for humans clicking buttons, not agents executing millions of transactions per second. The architecture assumes human latency tolerance. Agents have none.
